                    About Prusa Research

We are the largest maker of 3D printers in Europe and the United States.

Founded as a one-man startup in 2012 by Josef Prusa, a Czech hobbyist, maker, and inventor. In just 15 years, we've grown into a company of more than 1,200 people. Every month, we design, build, and ship over 10,000 innovative and secure 3D printers from our headquarters in Prague, Czech Republic, and Delaware, USA, to users in more than 160 countries.

                  What happened?

The printer is showing the message "The bed doesn't seem to be aligned properly. Run Z alignment procedure?" before printing.

                  Error name: Uneven bed

Error code: #31111 (CORE One) #35111 (CORE One L) #36111 (CORE One INDX)

This message is shown when different parts of the print surface are not aligned with each other.

                  How to fix it?

Go to the printer menu to Control -> Calibrations & tests -> Z alignment calibration. After the calibration, the printer will ask if you wish to finish the tests, click on Quit.

If the issue persists, move the bed down, open the trapezoid nuts, and check if they can move freely along the threaded rods.

It is also possible to lubricate the Z-axis lead screws as instructed in the printer's regular maintenance guide under "Axes check - Z-axis leadscrews"

I followed the link to the CORE One maintenance page, but there is no section labeled "Axes check - Z-axis leadscrews" to be found there.

Same. I get errors about the bed being uneven and needing to run Z alignment procedures every couple prints and I would love to actually follow all the troubleshooting steps but they don't exist.

My printer is randomly believes the bed is out of level also. It does look like the heater whip hits the z stop up top on very large prints. I have zero issues with smaller parts. It is VERY annoying. I think the top Z stop needs more clearance for the cable.

Did you assemble the printer yourself? When I assembled my CORE One+, I routed the cable bundle from the Heatbed above the metal Heatbed Carriage, and this caused it to hit the Z stop in the back, causing the Z-Axis to stop moving up in the back but not in the front, so the bed would be unlevel. This is an easy fix as it only required moving the axis down and removing a few of the screws from the back panel on the bottom from the inside of the printer, and then just pushing the cable bundle below the carriage.

My problem is that the back of the bed is hanging to low, because it does not properly seat itself in the bed-stop-rear. I am currently trying to fix it, but it is weird

I just received my Core One L and went through all of the setup and first calibrations with everything passing until the first print and end up with bed leveling failed every time and this is my same problem with no luck fixing and support isnt helping. not quite sure what do as it doesnt give any error codes... i thought this was supposed to print right out of the box? i built my Xl from a million pieces and didnt even have these kinds of problems. and support is also no help...

Hello. Please be more specified what you tried. I remember one case that has the same problem by having the heatbed cable in front of the rear Z axis instead of behind it.

First thing to check: look under the bed for stray objects. A spare nozzle I'd left under there was my entire problem.

One possible cause of Core One print bed misalignment is wear in one or more POM trapezoidal nuts, which prevents correct Z calibration. This can occur when a MK4S-to-Core One upgrade kit is installed and the two trapezoidal nuts from the MK4S are reused, as they may already have some prior wear.
