<h3>歴史</h3>

<p>なぜ名前を変えたのか？まず第一に、以前の名前は本当に紛らわしいものでした。自分たちの資料でも「PE」という接尾語をつけないことが多く、コミュニティでは Slic3r と Slic3r PE をほぼ同じ意味で使っていました。新しいユーザーは、Slic3r を誤ってダウンロードし、「3D Printing Handbook」に掲載されているスクリーンショットとは違って見えることや、自分のPrusaプリンタ用に設定されていないことを不思議に思うかもしれません。オリジナルの Slic3r について言えば、Slic3r PE はアップデートのたびに、オリジナルのコードからどんどん離れていきました。私たちは Perl のソースコードをすべて C++ に書き換え、特に2.0のアップデートでは、あまりにも多くの違いがあったため、名前をより明確にすることが適切だと考えました。</p>

<p dir="ltr">インフィルの主な目的は、トップレイヤーの下を支持することです。そうしないと、トップレイヤーは何もないところにブリッジすることになります。 インフィルは、プリントスピード、強度、フィラメント消費量、さらにはプリントの外観にも影響します。</p>

<h3>インフィル(充填密度)</h3>
<p>ほとんどのモデルは、10～15％のインフィルで十分です。 上部が徐々に閉じていくモデルでは、中空（0％のインフィル）でもプリントできますが、通常はお勧めしません。 モデルに重さが必要なときや、より高い耐圧縮性またはより高い剛性が必要な場合は、インフィル値を増やすことで対応できます。 ただし、30％を超えるインフィルが必要になることはめったにありません。 最後に、100％のインフィルでモデルをプリントすると、インフィルパターンが強制的に直線になります。 100％のインフィルは、プリントしたモデルの外観に悪影響を与えることがありますので注意してください。</p>

<h3>トップ塗りつぶしパターン</h3>
<p>最上層レイヤーにのみ適用され、その下の隣接するソリッドレイヤーなどには影響しないカスタムインフィルパターンが選択できます。&nbsp;</p>
<h3>ボトム塗りつぶしパターン</h3>
<p>上部の隣接するソリッドレイヤーではなく、最下層のレイヤーにのみ適用されるカスタムインフィルパターンが選択できます。</p>
<h3>インフィルをXレイヤー毎に結合する</h3>
<p>プリント品質を犠牲にせず速くプリントするために、外周とは異なる積層高さでのインフィルが形成されます。<br />
例: プリントレイヤーピッチが0.1mmで、インフィルを3レイヤー毎に結合するという指定をすると、インフィルは0.3mmピッチでプリントされます。</p>
<div class="note-callout">最大の積層高さは、ノズルの直径によって決まります（最大値はおよそノズル直径の80％）。0.4mmノズルを使用しているときに、外周の積層高さが0.3mm設定で結合を2レイヤー毎と設定しようとすると、制限の0.32mm以上になってしまうので、実際には結合しなくなります。</div>

<h3>必要な場合のみインフィルを付ける</h3>
<p>このオプションは、インフィルが内部サポートのように振る舞います。上部でサポートが必要な領域のみ、その下にインフィルパターンを生成します。 このオプションを有効にすると、Gコードの生成が遅くなります（追加のオーバーハング計算を行うため）。 さらに、一部の領域ではインフィルが外周パターンから離れることがあるため、このオプションを使ったときはツールパスを入念にチェックすることが必要です。</p>

<h3>マテリアル</h3>
<p>PETG や時には PLA は、化学的に中性で、実質的に食品に安全な材料として3Dプリント界ではよく使用されています。炭酸飲料のペットボトル、食品容器、サラダボックスなどは、PETG のとても近い種類である PET で作られています。</p>
<p>一般的に3Dプリンタで作られたものは、層状に作られていることが問題となります。層と層の間にある溝は、バクテリアの温床となり、適切な洗浄ができずに残留物が残ってしまいます。</p>
<p>また、着色料や未知の添加物も問題です。これらは、純粋なプラスチックほど体にとってニュートラルではないかもしれません。また、これらの物質がどのくらい含んでいるかを正確に言うことは困難です。色がついていないナチュラル/ピュアな PETG フィラメントがベストですが、何が入っているのかはっきりさせるのは難しいでしょう。フィラメントの中にはFDAの認可を受けているものもありますが、多くの場合「赤、オレンジ、ピンク以外は認可済み」のような ※ が付いています。私たちの <a href="https://blog.prusaprinters.org/how-to-make-food-grade-3d-printed-models_40666/">ブログ記事</a> で、当社の Prusament フィラメントのうち、どのフィラメントが使用できて、どのフィラメントが使用できないかをマッピングしています。</p>

<p>また、使用するノズルによっても違いが出てきます。標準装備の真鍮製ノズルは摩耗するため、 <strong>食の安全性には配慮していません</strong>。柔らかい真鍮のノズルは摩擦により消耗してしますので、その消耗された材質は全てプリントの中に入ってしますのです。食品に使用するプリントと考えると、ステンレス製やチタン製のノズルを選ぶ必要があります。</p>

プリンタハンドブック

<p>Original Prusa プリンタには、一台一台固有のシリアル番号が割り当てられています。この番号は、すべてのプリンタに貼られている銀色のシール に記載されており、メインフレームに貼付されています。2021年11月までに発行されたシリアルナンバーは "<em>CZPX</em>" で始まり、2021年11月以降は "SN" で始まる新しい形式を導入しています。すべてのシリアル番号は社内データベースに登録されており、お客様のプリンタが純正品であることを確認することができます。</p>

<p>そこで、写真や動画の撮影の仕方についてや、それらをサポートに共有にする際のアドバイスやガイドラインを紹介します。</p>
<div class="note-callout">オンラインでのファイル共有には、セキュリティ上の懸念があります。Zip形式に圧縮されたビデオをダウンロードしたり、ハードディスクにファイルをダウンロードしたりすることはありません。</div>
<h3>写真や動画を撮影する際のガイドライン</h3>
<h4>トラブルシューティングの対象となるプリンタ機種</h4>
<p>例えば、当社のアセンブリマニュアルの例写真やスクリーンショットは何の役にも立ちません。私たちはお客様のプリンタをサポートするため、<strong>お客様のプリンタ本体</strong> を確認する必要があります。他のプリンタを見ることは、お客様自身の特定のケースとは必ずニュアンスが異なるので、参考にはなりません。 例: 「このフォーラムのスレッドの3番目の投稿の写真は、私の問題とまったく同じです 」は、残念ながら十分ではありません。</p>
<h4>照明とピントが合っている</h4>
<p>写真や動画を送信する前に、被写体に十分な光が当たっていること、ピントが合っていることを確認してください。また、カメラのフラッシュを使用すると、画面が暗くなることがありますので注意してください。</p>
<h4>超クローズアップ</h4>
<p>私たちはしばしば「エクストルーダー」や「フレーム」の一般的な写真を要求することがよくありますが、最近の携帯電話では解像度が高いため、照明が十分であれば、特別に接近して撮影する必要はほとんどありません。そのため、特別に接近して撮影された写真は大抵の場合、もっと写真を撮って再送してもらわなくてはならなくなるケースがよくあります。</p>
<h4>カメラの向き</h4>
<p>携帯電話を縦向きに持って動画を撮影するのは、よくある見落としです。携帯電話のカメラの画像チップは、常に画面と同じ方向に解像度を持つため、この方法でビデオを撮影してしまうと、通常の「横」モニターに表示したときに、<strong>解像度の約3分の2が失われます</strong> (下図)  しかしながら、失われてしまった画像はサポート担当者にとっては解決法を探る重要な部分なので、<strong>動画は横向きで撮影してください。</strong></p>

<p>3Dプリンタは、デジタルデータに基づいて物理的なモデル（3Dオブジェクト）を作成する自動化された積層造形プロセスです。どのタイプの3Dプリントも、既存のレイヤーの上に（または下に）レイヤーを追加してオブジェクトを作成するという同じ原理に基づいています。現時点では、完全に万能であらゆる用途に対応できる3Dプリント技術は存在しません。そのため、どのような目的でどのようにプリンタを使うかを決めることが重要です。&nbsp;</p>

<h3>FDM/FFFプリンタ</h3>
<p><strong>FDM</strong>は<strong>Fused Deposition Modeling</strong>（ストラタシスの商標）、<strong>FFF</strong>は<strong>Fused Filament Fabrication</strong>（オープンソース）の頭文字を取ったものです。ポリマーを加熱・溶融し、ノズル/エクストルーダー/プリントヘッドを通してプラットフォーム上に押し出し、モデルを造形する3Dプリンタ全般を指します。プリントに使う材料は、直径1.75mm、場合によっては2.85mmのフィラメントスプールとして提供されます。プリンタの種類による違いは、エクストルーダーとプリント基盤がどのように動いてモデルを作るかによります。&nbsp;</p>
<h4>直交型プリンタ</h4>

<p>直交型プリンタは、Y（前後）、X（左右）、Z（上下）の直交座標系の軸に沿って、少なくとも3つのモーターでプリンターの部品を動かすのが特徴です。普及率が高く、価格も安いことから、個人向けのデスクトッププリンタのほとんどが直交型プリンタです。</p>
<p>プリントされるモデルは、プリントのためにレイヤーにスライスされる必要があります。Y軸とX軸は1つのレイヤーでプリントする座標を定義し、レイヤーの準備ができたらZ軸はプリントベッドを動かすかエクストルーダーを動かして、ノズルを1層上に移動させることになります。オーバーハングがある場合、その下にサポートを追加することができます。</p>
<p>直交型プリンタの最大のメリットは、もっとも一般的なものであるということです。ネット上にはたくさんのヒントやコツ、問題の解決策があります。また、プリンタの部品も簡単に見つけることができます。</p>
<p>欠点としては、直交プリンタは、高速プリントに使用した場合、軸の重さのためにプリントの品質が低下することが挙げられます。また、通常、すべての軸を動かすため、プリンターの体積は造形物の体積よりかなり大きくなります。</p>

<h4>CoreXYプリンタ</h4>
<p>直交プリンタと同様に、CoreXYデザインもY軸とX軸の2つのモーターとタイミングベルトで緯度と経度の座標を決定し、Z軸でプリントの高さを決定します。Core XYの違いは、XとYの動きが互いに依存し、非常に特殊なベルトデザインによって行われることです。この場合、プリント面はエクストルーダーに合わせて持ち上がります。ただし、CoreXYプリンタの特徴は、印刷面が可動することだけではありません。このプリンタの特徴は、XYベルトの設計とその動きにあります。</p>
<p>X軸とY軸がかなり軽くなっているので、直交プリンタで高速プリントしたときに現れるような課題が起きにくいようになっています。また、プリント面を横に移動させる必要がないため、全体の体積の多くをビルドボリュームにできる設計になっています。</p>
<p>CoreXYプリンタはベルトの長さが長いため、直交プリンタと比較してベルトの問題が大きくなります。また、経路が複雑なため、これらの問題の修復も困難です。フレーム製で非常に安定している一方で、完全に正方形でなければ寸法精度は悪くなってしまいます。</p>

<h4>デルタプリンタ</h4>
<p>デルタプリンタでは、プリント面は静止しており、3つのモーターが連動し、ホットエンドを緯度・経度・高さで移動させることができます。これらのモーターは3本の柱を制御し、これらの柱はアームでエクストルーダーと接続され、ホットエンドを動かすことになります。このホットエンドを支えるアームが三角形をしていることから、プリンタスタイルの名称（&Delta;＝デルタ）となっています。このタイプのプリンタは、より速くプリントできるように設計されています。</p>
<p>デルタプリンターのエクストルーダーは非常に軽量です。それが3つのモーターを制御することと相まって、このプリンタを高速プリントに最適なものにしています。このプリンタは、複雑な計算で動きを作るため、早くから32ビットシステムを採用していました。また、動いているときの見た目のクールさも魅力のひとつです。&nbsp;</p>

<h3>SLA</h3>
<h4>(光造形機)</h4>
<p>バット重合プリントの基本原理は、感光性液体（樹脂）を入れたバットを熱源で一層ずつ硬化させて対象物を作るというものです。</p>
<p>プリントされたオブジェクトはほぼ完全に滑らかで、驚くほど精細で、レイヤー高さは最小で25～100ミクロンと、人間の目にはほとんど見えません。この技術の最大の欠点は、プリント面積が小さくなることと、液体樹脂の毒性です。樹脂が皮膚に触れないようにしたり、樹脂の蒸気を吸い込まないようにする必要があります。</p>
<p>プリントオブジェクトは、プリント終了後すぐに使用することはできません。これはオブジェクトの表面に残っている未固化の樹脂が原因で、少し柔らかくてべたべたした感じになるからです。イソプロピルアルコールで洗浄し、UVライトでさらに硬化させることをお勧めします。</p>

<h4>マスク式光造形機 (MSLA)</h4>
<p>各レイヤーの形状を半透明のマスクとして液晶画面に表示し、高性能なUV LEDで露光を行います。UV光はディスプレイの白画素しか通過できません。液晶ディスプレイの解像度が一定なので、プリントオブジェクトのXY解像度も一定になります。また、この方法では1度に全層を硬化させるので、プリント台上にオブジェクトが何個あっても大丈夫です。</p>

<p>露光は紫外線レーザーで行われます。レーザーは2枚のミラーで制御され、各層を徐々に「描画」していく動きをします。1つのレイヤーを固めるのに必要な時間は、固めるべき領域の大きさによって決まります。つまり、プリント台上にあるオブジェクトの数が多ければ多いほど、プリントにかかる時間は長くなります。</p>

<h3>SLS</h3>
<p><strong>選択的レーザー焼結法</strong></p>
<p>3Dプリント技術のもう一つのタイプはSLSとDMLSで、焼結と呼ばれるプロセスを使用します。基本的には、新しいレイヤーをプリントするたびに、シリンダーがプラットフォーム上に微細な粉末の薄い層を広げ、それをレーザーで焼結して必要な形状にします。プリントが終わると、オブジェクト全体がプリント用粉末で覆われます。そのため、プリントオブジェクトに穴を開け、そこから余分な粉を流し込む必要があります。余分な粉は次のプリントに再利用できるので、材料の無駄がほとんどありません。また、レイヤーがほとんど見えないというメリットもあります。このプリンタは、一般に広く普及しているわけではありません。産業用として使われることが多いため、価格も高く、安いものでも6,000ドル（約100万円）程度からになります。</p>

<h3>保証期間内の修理</h3>
<p><strong>組立て済みプリンター</strong> をお持ちの場合、修理に出す費用は保証の対象となります。</p>
<p><strong>キット</strong> をお持ちの場合、部品単体のみが保証の対象となり、修理は対象外です。修理に出される場合は、保証期間内でも送料・手数料がかかります。</p>

<h3>手順</h3>

<h3>Price</h3>

<li><strong>技術者の修理時間は1時間単位で課金されます。</strong>修理の範囲が決まったら、技術者は予想価格を含む時間の見積もりを提示します。この金額は、<a href="https://shop.prusa3d.com/">e-shop</a> (CZK, USD, EUR, PLN, GBP) のいずれかで請求することができます。</li>
<li><strong>部品には当社小売価格があり、</strong>見積価格に記載されます。</li>
</ul>
<p>見積もり金額には「予備費」が加算されます。この金額は、修理費用の合計額に基づいて計算されます。これは、未公開の問題やプリンターにサードパーティ製の改造品がある場合に、技術者の時間や部品をカバーするものです。何も発見されなかった場合、この金額は最終金額に加算されません。</p>
<p><strong>修理の開始は、費用をご負担いただいた後となります。</strong> 修理費をご負担いただけない場合、プリンターはそのままの状態で返却となります。この場合、返送にかかる送料をご負担いただきます。お支払い後、プリンターは修理されずに返送されます。</p>
<h3>修理</h3>
<p>プリンターはサービスチームによって修理され、すべての機能をテストするために一連のzプリントが行われます。これには、問題がある特定のGコード (SDカードに追加され、<strong>サービスリストに記載されている場合</strong>)、およびプリンターの主要機能のテストプリントが含まれます。</p>

<p>プリンターが届いてから、<strong>修理に最大30日かかることがあります (EUの法律による)</strong>。しかし、これはあくまでも最悪のケースであり、通常、標準的な修理依頼であれば、より短時間で処理することが可能です。最初の評価後、時間の見積もりを依頼することができます。</p>
<p>修理後、代金をお支払いいただきます。プリンターは、テストプリントと修理・交換内容を記した最終修理手順書とともに、お客様のもとに返送されます<em>。</em></p>
<h3>修理保証</h3>
<p><strong>修理するプリンターの特定部位は、3ヶ月の保証</strong> (修理契約)があります。修理後に返却したプリンターに不具合があった場合、または当社の技術者の過失による不具合があった場合、<strong>3ヶ月以内</strong> であれば無料で修理対応いたします。</p>
<p>ただし<strong>&nbsp;修理契約の保証は、プリンターの一般保証とは無関係です。</strong> また、修理箇所とは関係ない別の、あるいは新たな問題が発生した場合は、この3ヶ月の修理保証の対象外となります。この場合、新たに修理費用の見積もりを作成し、確認する必要があります。</p>

<p>Original Prusa MINI+ とSL1は、プリンタが自動的にプロジェクトを画面に表示し、すぐにプリントできるようにするユーザーフレンドリーな機能を持っています。</p>

<p>You can 'explode' the entire printer or specific section into the basic parts. Let's learn how to achieve that.</p>

<p>Starting firmware 1.6.0, we have included a <strong>Print profile feature for more demanding geometry and materials</strong> to ensure good results, considering the infinite range of these that the printer might see. For example, a hollow model, like a cup, can generate suction when separated from the FEP during fast layer changes.</p>
<p>Furthermore, special resins, like some flexible or casting resins, can have a much higher viscousity (thicker), and thus need more time to flow below the print platform between layer exposures. Therefore, <strong>there are three speed options,</strong> <strong>'Faster', 'Slower' and 'High viscosity':</strong>&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Faster</strong> - The default profile for the SL1 and SL1S SPEED and would work for most projects.</li>
<li><strong>Slower</strong> - Slows down tilt speed and introduces a pause before each exposure/layer.</li>
<li><strong>High viscosity</strong> - Slows down the tilt speed and increases the pause between exposures even further than the 'Slower' profile.</li>

Print Profile (SL1/SL1S)

<p>Both Original Prusa SL1 and SL1S SPEED have a growing library of resin print profiles in the PrusaSlicer, which were tested and verified by Prusa Research. However, the printers are also open to any other 3rd-party resins. <strong>The material has to be compatible with MSLA technology and cured with 405nm UV light.</strong> To achieve the best results with any compatible resin you need to find its exact exposure time.</p>
<p>For this reason, both <strong>SL1 and SL1S include a resin calibration feature.</strong> This helps you evaluate your resin using a set of printed objects, where each object from the set is cured with a different exposure time. Throughout this article, you will learn the procedure, and how to select the best object and exposure time.</p>
<p><strong>This procedure is as follows:</strong></p>

<li>Prepare the printer.</li>
<li>Download the calibration projects.</li>
<li>Print the calibration projects.</li>
<li>Evaluate the printed objects.</li>
<li>Create a PrusaSlicer resin profile (preset).</li>

<p style="padding-left: 40px;"><strong>For exotic resins or types/brands that you do not know anything about,</strong> it is a good idea to explore the exposure times from a wide to a narrow range. Some industrial resins can require a very long exposure time (around 10s for SL1S or 30s for SL1). A good practice is <strong>starting with an increment of 1s for SL1S SPEED or 3s for SL1</strong>, to cover a wide range of exposure times. From the best-looking calibration objects, you can determine the more narrow range, before repeating the process with a shorter exposure increment to get more accurate results.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 40px;">To have an idea about approximate exposure time we recommend checking what the manufacturer of the resin state for similar types of printers. Take into account that the <strong>SL1 is RGB MSLA</strong> and <strong>SL1S SPEED is Mono MSLA</strong> technology<strong>.</strong> If you have any such comparable exposure times, you can narrow in the range of exposure times and incremented time.</p>
<div class="warning-callout">The SL1S SPEED, with its monochrome display, will cure most resins 2-3 times faster than the Original Prusa SL1.</div>

<li style="counter-increment: li 5;">At the fourth layer, the actual exposure times per object will be included as part of the model. Being physically printed with the object it makes the evaluation after the print is finished easier.</li>

<h3>Creating a PrusaSlicer preset</h3>
<p><strong>Did you find the best exposure time for your resin? Great!</strong> You can start a normal print right away, adjusting the exposure time on the printer's display before the print or you can create your own resin profile:</p>

<li><strong>Open PrusaSlicer</strong> and in the Plater view, select from the list of the printers (<span style="color: #2dc26b;">green arrow</span>), Original Prusa SL1/SL1S SPEED, depending on which you have.</li>
<li>From SLA print settings (<span style="color: #843fa1;">purple arrow</span>), select the layer height you want to calibrate the resin for. This will load all the available resins.</li>

<li>Select any resin from the dropdown list with the layer height you intend to calibrate for. It will be used as a base for your new profile. Then click on the <strong>"Save</strong>" icon (?) next to the list (<span style="color: #236fa1;">blue arrow</span>).</li>
<li>A dialogue will open up where you <strong>name the preset</strong> (e.g. "My new calibrated resin") and hit "OK".</li>
<li>In the new resin, the profile <strong>adjusts the fields "Initial Exposure time" and "Exposure time"</strong> (<span style="color: #ba372a;">red square</span>), which sets the time for which each layer of the sliced object is exposed to the UV light.</li>
<li>Now, you are good to go. Slice your next model and Happy Printing!</li>

<h3>Return for repair</h3>

<h3>Packing materials</h3>
<p><strong>Before you start packing it down, get out your phone or camera to take pictures of the printer before and during the packing process. Make sure the <a href="http://help.prusa3d.com/ja/article/original-prusa-serial-number_134171#original-prusa-sl1">serial number sticker is present on the back of the printer</a>. If it is not present, please <a href="http://help.prusa3d.com/ja/article/customer-support_2287">contact support</a> right away.</strong></p>

<p>You will need a piece of bubble-wrap/sheet padding. Roughly 400 × 400 mm / 15 × 15 in. <strong>Do not use packing peanuts and/or shredded paper as padding material!</strong> This is not suitable. Use crumpled paper, bubble-wrap, or other inflated packing material.</p>
<h3>Packing process</h3>

<li>Remove the resin-tank (vat) and lay a layer of thin cardboard on top of the print-LCD. Make holes in the cardboard at the screw-holes and secure the vat on top with its screws. <em>To easily get the correct holes, place the tank with screws on top of the cardboard and press the screws down to mark where you create some holes (left picture).</em></li>

<h3>Pouring resin into the tank</h3>
<p>Before you start printing, always make sure the FEP film on the bottom is clear (transparent), clean, and has no holes, dents, or deep scratches. Check the tilt platform with the display and make sure it is completely clean and there is no debris anywhere.</p>
<div class="warning-callout">Wear gloves when handling resins!</div>
<p>Place the tank on the tilt platform. There is a small groove running around the tilt bed that will help you to position the tank properly. You may hear a little “click” as it falls into place. Use the two resin tank screws to secure it to the tilt bed. Tighten screws simultaneously and with the same amount of force, otherwise, the tank may end up in an uneven position.</p>
<p>Tighten both screws simultaneously and with the same amount of force. Pour the recommended amount of resin - there is a max level mark in the tank.</p>
<p>Once the tank is secure, pour the resin in it. Notice that there is a max level mark in the tank that will help you measure the optimal volume. The SL1 features a built-in resin level sensor, so in case there’s too little or too much resin, the printer will pause and display an on-screen info message. Please follow the on-screen instructions to fix the issue.</p>
<div class="warning-callout" style="text-align: center;"><strong>Do not overfill the tank!</strong></div>
<p>Any time you are asked to refill the resin to the max, it always means adding it up to the 100% mark, not to the edge of the tank!</p>
<h2>Running out of resin / Adding resin mid-print</h2>
<p>The SL1 features a built-in resin level sensor, which measures the amount of resin in the tank before every print. Some models might be too large and require more than the maximum amount of 200 ml resin in the tank. The printer can recognize when the resin starts running low and pauses the print. An on-screen message is displayed, asking you to fill resin back to the max level mark. Once you refill the resin, you can press the on-screen Continue button to resume the print.</p>
<div class="note-callout">Keep in mind that in certain cases (especially if the print has been paused for a long time), the new layer may not adhere perfectly to the rest of the object - or not adhere at all.</div>

Pouring resin and starting print

<p>3D printers have their own vocabulary and words for describing their various parts and functions. If you are doing maintenance or about to seek help online, it is necessary to have the right words to describe your issue or problem. We have put together a list of words with explanation, covering most parts on the printer.</p>
<h4 style="text-align: center;">This glossary covers the SL1 and CW1.</h4>
<p><strong>Knob</strong> - Large black knob at the top of the cantilever is designed for an easy mounting/dismounting of the print platform.</p>
<p><strong>Tank</strong> - The container for liquid resin. It has a transparent bottom that allows UV light to pass through. The bottom of the tank is an FEP film, a consumable that will degrade after some time. The FEP film is replaceable (see <a href="http://help.prusa3d.com/ja/article/sl1-sl1s-maintenance_1951#fep-film-tank-maintenance">Printer Maintenance</a>). Use only warm water and dishwashing soap to clean the FEP.</p>
<p><strong>Tilt</strong> - The general name for the whole bed with the motorized tilt function. The tilting tank is one of the biggest advantages of this machine. Thanks to this solution, smaller forces are required to pull the object from the bottom of the tank, which results in better-looking models and more reliable printing.</p>
<p><strong>Tower / Z-Axis</strong> - The mechanism that raises and lowers the cantilever with the print platform. The cantilever is secured with a ball screw.</p>
<p><strong>Acrylic Lid /Lid</strong>&nbsp;- The orange-colored lid is made of acrylic and its layers protect the liquid resin from UV light (such as sunlight), which would otherwise cure it. Still, it’s not a 100% shield and the printer should not be placed in direct sunlight. It must be closed during printing.</p>
<p><strong>Liquid resin</strong> - Liquid materials used for printing in SLA 3D printers. It requires special care during handling (see <a href="http://help.prusa3d.com/ja/article/resins_1977">Resins [進行中の翻訳]</a>).</p>
<p><strong>Curing / solidifying</strong> - Curing is the process of solidifying liquid resin using UV light. Even sunlight contains UV light and it can cause the liquid resin to solidify. The recommended curing time per single layer is usually between 5-12 seconds depending on the resin used - there may be exceptions. Layer height, object size, and exposure (curing) time are the three factors that have a major impact on the length of the printing process and quality of the printed object.</p>
<p><strong>Touchscreen</strong> - The main control interface of the SL1. The capacitive touchscreen is used to navigate through the menus, start prints, adjust settings, or calibrate the printer.</p>
<p><strong>Power Button</strong> - Turns the printer on or off. This button on the front of the printer won’t disconnect the power supply. To cut off power completely, always disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.</p>
<p><strong>Print display / 2K display</strong>&nbsp;- This display is part of the tilt assembly. It shows a mask (shape) of a single layer at a time, allowing UV light to pass through and solidify a single layer. The fixed resolution of the display means that the X/Y resolution of the printed object is also fixed.</p>
<p><strong>UV LEDs / UV panel</strong> - The UV LED panel emits UV light through the mask shown on the print display and solidifies (cures) the resin in the tank, creating the desired object layer by layer.</p>
<p><strong>Ethernet port</strong> - Can be used to connect the printer to the local network. It is located on the back of the device.</p>
<p><strong>USB port</strong> - Used for reading SL1 print files from a USB drive</p>
<p><strong>SL1 file (.sl1)</strong>&nbsp; - File containing printing instructions compatible with the SL1. SL1 files are created by slicing a 3D object using PrusaSlicer</p>

Glossary SL1/CW1

<p>Before you start the calibration process, it is advised to connect the printer to the internet, so that it can download updated firmware files (if they are available). There are two ways how to connect the printer to the internet and once you are connected you will either get an ethernet or Wi-Fi symbol in the top-right corner, next to the clock.</p>

<h3>Ethernet cable</h3>
<p>You can use a standard RJ-45 ethernet cable. Connect it to your router, and the printer should obtain an IP address automatically - however, this may depend on your network configuration. Since every network is different, please refer to your router’s instructions or your internet provider’s tech support in case you run into trouble.&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Wireless connection</h3>
<p>The SL1 3D printer has a built-in Wi-fi network card compatible with 2.4GHz networks. To open the Wi-Fi network browser, go to <em>Main Menu -&gt; Settings -&gt; Network -&gt; Wi-Fi</em>. A list of all available networks will be displayed. Select your Wi-Fi network and connect to it by typing your password using the on-screen touch keyboard.&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Finding the printers IP address</h3>

<p>Once your printer is connected to the network, you will find its IP address in Main Menu-&gt; Settings -&gt; Network, under Wifi or Ethernet, depending on how you are connected.</p>
<p>You can also use a wifi-scanner app, like Fing to find the printer on your network and its assigned IP. <strong>The name of the device will be the Hostname of the printer</strong>, default "prusa64-sl1".</p>

<h3>Troubleshooting</h3>
<p>Since every network is different, we cannot provide exact instructions on how to connect to your wireless/wired network. If you encounter any trouble, please refer to your router’s manual, or contact your internet provider’s tech support. Moreover, the quality of your wireless connection depends on many factors - such as the type/configuration of the router, the distance of the printer from the router, or wireless interference in your area.</p>
