To make a successful multi-color print with the MMU, the filaments must all be loaded correctly. There are multiple options in the printer menu in Filament.
Preload options
In the MMU preload options, the pulley advances the filament to the FINDA sensor and then retracts it to the correct position for printing. When preparing a multi-color print, we recommend preloading all filaments to ensure proper alignment.
Preload to MMU
With this option, you can select the filament type loaded in each MMU slot. After choosing the desired filament for each slot, scroll down and click “Carry Out Changes” to apply them.
Preload All
This option allows you to preload all MMU slots with the same material in a single click.
Other MMU Filament options
- Load to Nozzle: Select an MMU slot to load filament into the extruder and purge it.
- Unload Filament: Unload filament from the nozzle back to the MMU.
- Eject from MMU: Eject the filament to the rear of the MMU so it can be manually removed.
- Cut Filament: Uses the selector’s built-in blade to cut the filament.
- Manage Filaments: Change the filament type assigned to each MMU slot.
