Comments

In this chapter, we will assemble the spool holders. Before proceeding, note that there are two types:

1. Current Injection-molded spoolholder

Currently shipped in the MK4/S or CORE One versions. Continue to Injection molded spoolholder: parts preparation

2. Legacy vacuum-formed spoolholder

This old version used to come with the first MK3S versions or older upgraded units.

Continue to the Vacuum formed holder parts preparation

If the large portion of the box is occupied by the rectangular black trays, you have the first version, the older vacuum-formed spoolholders.

What's going on? If this was the MK4, I would be on my third haribo break by now

No need to click the links

MK4/S or CORE One assemblers skip to step 7

Legacy/MK3S assemblers just press next (continue to step 2, and step 6 is your last step for this chapter)

The images show pre-assembled parts

You're going to want to pop open the bag of Haribo and do a line before you start on this section.

These spool holders are laughable. Spool jumps off, spins backwards leaving a mess of tangled filament every thing you unload.

The Prusa Enclosure V2 - MMU2 appears to use the aluminum rods from the Classic vacuum-formed spoolholder, but I received the new injection-molded spoolholder. Does anyone know the dimensions of these rods?
Jan Kratochvíl

Hello. Dimensions of the rods: 8x120mm
