Paso 1 Herramientas necesarias para este capitulo

⬢Para este capítulo, prepara por favor:

⬢Llave Allen de 2.5mm

⬢Llave Torx T8/10

Paso 2 Removing the xLCD assembly

⬢Desatornilla los cuatro tornillos M3x10 que fijan el xLCD al marco.

⬢Retira el xLCD del marco. Colócalo en la parte frontal de la impresora.

Do not pull on the xLCD cables!

⬢Tira con cuidado del cable PE Faston.

La posición del cable PE Faston puede variar en función de la versión de tu xLCD.

Las primeras unidades tienen el cable fijado mediante un tornillo al conector Faston de PE.

⬢Carefully unplug the xLCD connector from the xLCD board.

Paso 3 Disassembling the xLCD

Make sure the USB drive is removed from the xLCD.

⬢Remove the knob from the xLCD assembly by simply pulling it off.

⬢Release and remove all screws securing the xLCD board.

Do not discard the PE Faston connector (brass flat plate).

⬢Remove the xLCD-support-left (right from this view).

⬢Retira con cuidado la placa xLCD de la cubierta junto con el xLCD-support-left.

Ten cuidado de no dañar la pantalla del lado opuesto del xLCD.

⬢Remove the xLCD-support-right from the xLCD.

Paso 4 MK4: xLCD versions

⬢Find out which version of the xLCD you have. It can be easily recognized by the location of the grounding connection (PE / FE) on the back of the PCB:

⬢The newer version A - the grounding point is located on the top left hole.

(version number 26, 27 and higher)

Si tienes esta versión, continúa en el siguiente paso.

⬢The older version B - the grounding point (marked PE) is located on the bottom right hole.

(rev. 0.12.2, 0.12.3 etc.)

If you have this version, continue to the xLCD B step.

Paso 5 Montaje del xLCD: preparación de las piezas (parte 1)

⬢Para los siguientes pasos, por favor prepara:

⬢xLCD-support(1x) parte nueva

⬢xLCDcover (1x) parte nueva

⬢xLCD (1x) que quitaste antes

⬢Set adhesivos xReflector (1x)

Paso 6 Montaje del xLCD: preparación de las piezas (parte 2)

⬢xLCD-knob (1x) parte nueva

⬢Tornillo 3x8sT (4x)

⬢PE Faston 6.3x0.8 (1x) que quitaste antes

⬢Tornillo 3x12sT (4x)

Paso 7 Instalando la pegatina xReflector

⬢Despega uno de los adhesivos individuales xReflector.

Si la pegatina se daña al despegarla, hay una pegatina adicional en el paquete de SPARE.

⬢Coloca la tira adhesiva xReflector de forma que quede alineada con un lado y ambos bordes del "canalón" de la cubierta del xLCD. Continúa colocando la tira adhesiva xReflector hacia el otro lado del canalón.

⬢Presiona la tira adhesiva xReflector hasta el fondo del canalón para que se adhiera a la xlcd-cover.

Paso 8 Covering the xLCD (xLCD A)

⬢Desliza con cuidado el xLCD en el soporte para xLCD, asegurándote de que encaje bajo las pestañas de plástico. Alinea los agujeros de los tornillos de la placa xLCD con los agujeros de la pieza de plástico.

⬢Coloca la xLCD-cover sobre el xLCD, orientándolo de modo que el codificador pase por el orificio de la cubierta.

Paso 9 Instalando el Faston PE

⬢Desde la parte posterior del conjunto del xLCD, fija todas las piezas juntas utilizando tres 3x8sT.

Los cortes de los tornillos roscan directamente en el plástico, por lo que puede haber cierta resistencia.

⬢A través de la abertura del xLCD-support, coloca el Faston de PE sobre el xLCD con la orientación exacta que se muestra.

⬢Centra el PE Faston en la abertura y fíjalo con el tornillo 3x8sT.

Los cortes de los tornillos roscan directamente en el plástico, por lo que puede haber cierta resistencia.

Paso 10 Attaching the knob (xLCD A)

⬢Attach and push the xLCD-knob onto the xLCD encoder pin.

Note that there is a flat part on the encoder shaft. There is a geometry on the inside of the knob that should align with the flat part to seat the knob properly.

Paso 11 Connecting the assembly (xLCD A)

⬢Connect the xLCD cable to the xLCD board. Ensure the safety latch of the xLCD cable connector is up.

Make sure the xLCD cable is connected in the same orientation as seen in the picture. Otherwise, your display won't work

⬢Slide the connector onto the PE Faston all the way.

Paso 12 Mounting the assembly (xLCD A)

⬢En la placa frontal del bastidor de la impresora hay cuatro orificios. Inserte cuatro tornillos 3x12sT a través de cada uno de ellos desde el lado interior.

⬢Attach the xLCD assembly onto the front plate. The screws should fit into the corresponding openings in the xLCD assembly.

⬢Tighten up all four 3x12sT screws.

The screw cuts thread directly into the plastic, so there might be some resistance.

Paso 13 What's left... (xLCD A)

⬢Ya no necesitarás estas piezas:

⬢Antigua xLCD-cover (1x)

⬢xLCD-support-right (1x)

⬢xLCD-support-left (1x)

⬢Antiguo xLCD-knob (1x)

Paso 14 xLCD B

These steps are valid only if you have the older xLCD version B. If you have the newer version A, skip to the end of the chapter.

⬢Take the old xLCD cover.

⬢Remove the M3n nut from the xLCD cover.

⬢Pro Tip: Insert a screw as a handle and gently pull while wiggling it, to remove the nut.

Paso 15 xLCD B: parts preparation (part 1)

These steps are valid only if you have the older xLCD version B. If you have the newer version A, skip these steps!

⬢xLCD-cover (1x) new part

⬢xLCD-support-left (1x) you removed earlier

⬢xLCD-support-right (1x) you removed earlier

Paso 16 xLCD B: parts preparation (part 2)

⬢Para los siguientes pasos, por favor prepara:

⬢xReflector sticker set (1x) new part

⬢xLCD-knob (1x) you removed earlier

⬢M3x8rT screw (4x) you removed earlier

⬢Faston connector 6.3x0.8 (1x) you removed earlier.

⬢M3n nut (1x) you removed earlier

⬢M3x10 screw (4x) you removed earlier

Paso 17 Installing the xReflector sticker (xLCD B)

⬢Peel the xReflector sticker off the protective layer.

⬢Apply it into the marked area on the inside of the new xLCD cover.

⬢Press the xReflector sticker strip all the way towards the xLCD-cover, so that it adheres properly.

Paso 18 Installing the M3n nut (xLCD B)

⬢Install the M3n nut into the marked opening on the new xLCD cover.

⬢Consejo: para una mejor inserción de la tuerca, enrosca la tuerca en la punta de uno de los tornillos más largos e introdúcela en el orificio. A continuación, retira el tornillo.

Paso 19 xLCD-support assembly (xLCD B)

⬢Coloca el xLCD-support-right en el lado del conector USB de la placa xLCD. Observa que hay un pequeño gancho que va alrededor de la placa de circuito.

⬢Alinea el orificio de la pieza de plástico con el orificio de la placa xLCD.

⬢Insert the xLCD with the support-right into the cover. Note the recess for the support-right in the xLCD-cover. The support must fit into the recess.

⬢Asegura el xLCD-support-right y la placa xLCD con dos tornillos M3x8rT.

Paso 20 xLCD-support-left assembly (xLCD B)

⬢Coloca el xLCD-support-left en la placa xLCD y alinéala con los tres orificios de la placa.

⬢Inserta el PE Faston entre el xLCD-support-left y la placa xLCD. Alinéalo con el agujero y apunta el PE Faston ligeramente en diagonal como se ve en la imagen.

⬢Asegura las piezas con tres tornillos M3x8rT.

Paso 21 Attaching the knob (xLCD B)

⬢Coloca y empuje el xLCD-knob en la clavija del codificador del xLCD.

Observa que hay una parte plana en el eje del codificador. Hay una geometría en el interior del dial que debe alinearse con la parte plana para asentar el dial correctamente.

Paso 22 Connecting the assembly (xLCD B)

⬢Conecta el cable xLCD a la placa xLCD. Fíjate en el pestillo de seguridad del conector del cable xLCD. Debe enchufarse en el lado de la ranura xLCD marcado con el triángulo naranja en la placa.

Asegúrate de que el cable xLCD está conectado en la misma orientación que se ve en la imagen. De lo contrario, la pantalla no funcionará.

⬢Coge el extremo del cable de PE con conector cuadrado. Desliza el conector en el PE Faston hasta el fondo.

⬢Dobla ligeramente el PE Faston hacia abajo para que no sobresalga demasiado de la parte posterior de la pantalla. Curva el cable según el dibujo de la placa.
