Incomplete file - Testing if file ( .gcode) is complete

Updated 8 months ago by Tomáš Chvalina

Incomplete file error message occurs when there is a problem with the generated G-code and it could potentially fail the whole print. The printer automatically looks for common G-codes which indicate the end of the generated file. If they are not detected, you will get a warning. You can still continue printing if you wish, but you should probably examine the file.

How to prevent incomplete files (G-codes)?

  1. Simply make sure that you have completely exported the G-code to your PC or SD card.
  2. Double check that you did not delete any of the start and end G-code (pic. below how these should look like) in PrusaSlicer
  3. Try to Safely Remove the SD card from your computer, otherwise, you may end up with corrupt data.
  4. If none of the suggestions above work, there is a chance your SD card is corrupted. So please try to use another SD card just to test if this is the cause of the problem.
