The printer can fully recover from a complete loss of power without the need for batteries or a UPS. A special sensor detects mains voltage, and in case of an interruption, it immediately shuts down the heatbed and extruder heating, leaving enough power in the capacitors to store the position and lift the print head away from the print. In case of a very short power failure, the printer will attempt to continue printing immediately without waiting for user interaction.

The power panic doesn't work if you use the on/off switch on the PSU

                  Resuming the print

When the power comes back, the printer will give you an option to continue the print. Keep in mind that during extended periods without power, the bed will cool down and the printed object can detach itself from the sheet plate. So, before resuming the process, check the following:

                  1. Make sure that all objects are still attached to the steel sheet plate.
                  2. Follow the instructions on the LCD screen and resume the print.
                  3. Stay with the printer for about 10 minutes and make sure that the printing process continues without any problems.

                  Accessing the power panic cable

The power panic connection is between the power supply and mainboard. With the printer fully cooled down, switched off, and disconnected from the mains, access the PSU or mainboard sides.

Note: on CORE One, MK4/S, MK3.9/S, and MK3.5/S, there are two versions of the power panic cable, one with only a black wire and one with black and white wires. Both are compatible with these printer models, and there is no need to switch to one or the other. This note does not apply to CORE One L and MK3/S/+.

On CORE One L, access the electronics, to locate the power panic cable in the bundle of PSU power cables.

Due to safety reasons, do not open, unfasten bolts, or manipulate the AC controller box or its internal components under any circumstances. The AC controller box contains dangerous components that can lead to injury.

My CORE One L has never resumed a print after a power failure. So many lost hours, so much frustration.

Prusa Xl power lost recovery not working, black white wire plugged in, no issue there, think it's in your firmware. mine has not worked in months

There was a very short power outage, less than a second, and my Core One did not resume on its own or offer a resume. This has happened twice now this afternoon with a print partway done. The print head did not even lift from the print. I even had the printer on a small UPS the second time and it didn't help at all somehow. You can see a video of this happening on my stream here: https://www.twitch.tv/juliathecuddledemon/clip/TubularBadAnisePeteZaroll-czUXlKvSqdPxe8EQ The cameras all stop when the power goes out but come back before the end of the clip, showing the print head where it was when the power went out and the printer cooling down. The LCD was back on the home menu.

My core one didn't restart the print after a power cut.
It was 20mins from finishing a 10hr30m print.
This is going to waste over 200g of petg.
