What happened?

The Original Prusa printers are equipped with a Power Panic feature. This feature can recover a print in case of a sudden power loss (read more about it here). The power panic cable goes from the printer's PSU to the xBuddy board. If the cable is damaged, the printer will show "Power panic has been detected during printer initialization. Inspect wiring of PP-cable".

Error name: Power Panic

Error code: #31321 (CORE One) #35321 (CORE One L) #26321 (MK4S) #13321 (MK4) #27321 (MK3.9S) #21321 (MK3.9) #28321 (MK3.5S) #23321 (MK3.5)

How to fix it?

Before opening and manipulating parts and electronic boards, ensure the printer is cooled down, switched off, and disconnected from the mains

Check the cable connection on the PSU and on the xBuddy board. Make sure that the cable is not damaged.

Note: on CORE One, MK4/S, MK3.9/S, and MK3.5/S, there are two versions of the power panic cable, one with only a black wire and one with black and white wires. Both are compatible with these printer models, and there is no need to switch to one or the other. This note does not apply to CORE One L.

On CORE One L, access the electronics, and locate the power panic cable in the bundle of PSU power cables, to inspect it for any damage.

Do not hesitate to contact our 24/7 technical support in all scenarios. We can guide you through the electronics and cables while you are inspecting them, and provide help if replacement components are needed.

Due to safety reasons, do not open, unfasten bolts, or manipulate the AC controller box or its internal components under any circumstances. The AC controller box contains dangerous components that can lead to injury

I converted my MK4(s) to the Core One over the past week. When disconnecting the PSU, I broke the connector of the power panic cable. It was impossible to click the cable out of the connector. Something was wrong with it, even though this was a pre-assembled version. When starting the printer, I naturally get the error now. Now I can't do anything because of something I've never needed before. How can I proceed?

I have the same Issue, how was it fixed?

Just changed the xbuddy with newer version one and - having single wire power panic cable - on startup printer remains locked with POWER PANIC alarm. 2 wires power panic cable is needed...and Prusa should have sent it together with the xbuddy...but it did not.

I've spent a lot of time trying to figure this issue out on first startup - until I double checked the supplied cable, and realized the cable had the wires switched. There are small locking tabs in the cutout of the plug, which allows the wires to be removed and switched.

I am getting this error on startup after upgrading to MK4.  I checked the end to end continuity on the wires as well as ensuring that both ends were properly seated.  I am still getting the error and have no way to bypass it.
