Starting firmware version 4.1.0, the Original Prusa MINI is able to get the current time using the NTP servers (Network Time Protocol). This feature requires an active connection to the internet and brings a great addition to the running print.

An offline printer reads the duration of the print from the G-code and displays the remaining time on the screen (red arrow left picture). However, when the printer is online (purple arrow right picture) and acquires the current time, it calculates with the print time from the G-code and displays the estimated time of completion.

NTP client sends requests to the server once an ethernet connection is established and then updates its inner clock from the NTP servers every hour.

Settings

The NTP servers are not able to retrieve the time zone your printer is in. In order to see the correct time, please navigate to the Settings -> TZ UTC (+/-) and set the number of hours, which will be added or subtracted from the NTP server time.

For example, our HQ in Prague are UTC+2h, therefore the time zone settings have to be adjusted by +2 hours. More info on finding your time zone here.

The option of entering an IP for a time server should be offered.  Some people/businesses have their own time server on their network.

Hi, thanks for the feedback. I have noted it on my list :)

Where can I configure the NTP Server?
My Mini is on the network using Wifi but will not use the NTP Server provided by DHCP.

Did you ever resolve this issue? My Mini will not get the time from the NTP server wither.

I know I'm late to this party, but has Prusa ever established a way to disable this feature? My mini never knows what time it actually is. For instance, I am UTZ-5. My print currently states that it will be complete at 0805, but the actual time is 1125. There isn't even a clock on the screen to help me know what time the printer thinks it is. Not only that, but if the mini tells me that a long print has 2 hours left, that's easy to understand. However, if it says it will be done at 2134 (even if accurate), I now need to find a clock (because, like my printer, I don't usually know what time it is off-hand).

Hello. The TZ can be changed only by hours. A waz to change also the minutes hasn't been implemented yet.

Just to +1 Bryan 994. New Zealand is currently +13 and the firmware is unable to allow this.
David

Hi! Your timezone will be added into the future versions of the firmware ;)

Hi I live in new zealand and we are about to go into dst that needs +13 hour offset from utc time. Can you please add this to the next firmware update.
David

Hi! I've forwarded your comment to the firmware developers :)
