What happened?

If the thermistor integrated into the xBuddy, XLBuddy, or Buddy board measures a high temperature that would cause damage to the electronics at any point, the printer will stop and show the message "MCU in Buddy is overheated, likely due to exceeding the printer's operating temperature. Prevent overheating for optimal performance".

Error name: MCU in Buddy is overheated

Error code: #31825 (CORE One) #26825 (MK4S) #27825 (MK3.9S) #28825 (MK3.5S) #13825 (MK4) #21825 (MK3.9) #23825 (MK3.5) #17825 (XL) #12825 (MINI)

How to fix it?

Ambient temperature

Place the printer in a slightly colder environment than the current one. For example, if the printer is inside an enclosure, place it outside the enclosure to help reduce the measured temperature from the boards.

Connectors check

Before opening or manipulating any electronics and connections, ensure the printer is fully cooled down to room temperature, and switched off

Double-check and if needed, reconnect the electrical connectors on the Buddy/xBuddy/XLBuddy board, PSU, and heatbed, in particular the screw-attached connectors for power supply (PSU) and heatbed. A loose screw-attached connector can result in overheating of the Buddy/xBuddy/XLBuddy board.
